誰かが作業しているときに、その人を手伝うこと。多くの場合『give someone a hand with』の形で使われます。

カジュアルで丁寧な会話表現です。物理的・実際的な手助けを意味し、拍手の意味ではありません。「with」のあとに何の手伝いか付けるのを忘れないようにしましょう。
