'Grandsire' बहुत पुराना और साहित्यिक शब्द है, आम बोलचाल में इस्तेमाल नहीं होता। 'Grandfather' से अधिक औपचारिक और काव्यात्मक है और कभी-कभी दूर के पुरुष पूर्वजों के लिए भी आता है।
