특정 색을 구분하지 못하는 상태로, 주로 유전적 원인에 의해 발생합니다. 보통 빨간색과 초록색을 혼동하는 경우가 많습니다.

주로 의학적으로 사용되며 비유적으로는 무언가를 구분하지 못할 때도 사용됨. 'red-green colorblind'와 같이 색상을 함께 쓰기도 함. '색맹증'과는 구분.
