Normalmente usado seguido de um substantivo ('ameaçar com uma arma', 'ameaçar com castigo'). Registo neutro ou formal. Utiliza-se quando se especifica o instrumento, ação ou consequência. Não confundir com 'threaten to' (ameaçar fazer algo).
