Usado de forma figurada, não literal. Comum em negócios, esportes e contextos sociais para indicar algo que certamente trará fracasso. Normalmente vem precedido por 'ser', 'foi', etc.: 'Aquilo foi o beijo da morte para a carreira dele.' Não se refere a beijo real.
