이미 동의하거나 신념이 같은 사람에게 다시 설득하려고 하는 것을 의미한다. 새로운 사람을 설득하는 데는 해당되지 않는다.

불필요하게 이미 동의하는 사람에게 설명할 때 쓴다. 'preaching to the choir'도 같은 의미. 여러 의견이 있는 곳에서는 사용하지 않는다.
