法廷などで真実を誓った上で偽りを述べた状態を指します。

主に法廷や正式な場面で使われます。'perjured testimony'（偽証の証言）、'perjured statement'（偽証の陳述）などの表現でよく使われ、日常会話ではほとんど使いません。
