トラブルや恐怖を避けるために、素早くその場を離れる、逃げること。

アメリカ英語の口語的な表現で、物語や冒険の中で使われます。'light out for' （～へ逃げる）の形でもよく現れます。'lights out'（消灯）とは関係ありません。現代の会話ではあまり使われません。
