التعريف

그릇이나 손에서 직접 음식을 먹는 것. 또한, 누군가에게 쉽게 조종당하거나 크게 영향을 받는다는 의미로도 쓴다.

직접 그릇이나 손에서 먹을 때 쓰고, 관용적으로는 '누구의 손에서 먹다'처럼 상대방의 통제에 쉽게 따르는 상황에도 쓴다. 'eat out'(외식하다)와 혼동하지 말 것.

The cat likes to eat out of my hand.

고양이는 내 **손에서 먹는** 것을 좋아한다.

Please don't eat out of the pot.

냄비에서 **먹지 마세요**.
