Representative Meaning in English
word
释义
A person chosen or appointed to act or speak for others; also someone elected to a political body, such as a parliament or assembly.
用法与细微差别
'Representative' is both a general term (for anyone who represents others) and a specific political title (such as 'Member of the House of Representatives'). Common with 'sales representative' (business) and 'student representative' (schools). Not to be confused with 'senator' (different government position). More formal than 'rep', which is its informal short form.
