To turn your eyes away from something so that you are not looking at it. This can be to avoid seeing something, out of embarrassment, or distraction.

Often used when someone is avoiding eye contact or doesn't want to see something unpleasant. Common in instructions ('Don't look away'), or descriptions of reactions to shock, embarrassment, or guilt. Not to be confused with 'look away from' (explicitly stating the thing you turn from).
