Definition
İçinde uzun ve ince lifler bulunan, özellikle yiyeceklerde veya maddelerde sert ya da lifli doku olduğunda kullanılan bir ifadedir.

Yemekler için genellikle olumsuz anlam taşır ('stringy meat' yani çiğnemesi zor et). Saç veya başka bir dokunun ince, dağınık ve hoş olmayan yapısı için de kullanılır.
