Parar de funcionar ou se mover de repente, geralmente por problema mecânico ou rigidez. Pode se referir a máquinas ou partes do corpo.

Usado em fala informal e técnica. Normalmente para motores, máquinas ou articulações rígidas. Não se usa para parar intencionalmente: indica uma parada repentina e indesejada. Também pode ser figurado ("minha mente travou").
