증거는 어떤 사실이 진실임을 보여 주는 정보나 명확한 표시입니다. 출판에서는 인쇄 전에 교정하는 샘플을 가리키기도 합니다.

일상에서는 'proof'를 셀 수 없는 명사로 사용: '증거가 있습니까?'. 수학에서는 셀 수 있는 의미도 있음. 자주 쓰이는 표현: 'proof of identity', 'no proof', 'solid proof'. 출판에서는 인쇄 전 교정쇄로 사용.
