다른 사람의 갈등이나 논쟁을 해결하기 위해 중간에서 대신 나서서 도와주는 것.

‘Intercede’는 공식적이고 중요한 상황에서 주로 사용된다. 예: ‘intercede with’, ‘intercede on behalf of’. 본인을 위해서가 아니라 남을 위해 중재하는 데 쓰인다.

The teacher tried to intercede in the argument between two students.
