‘Hand waving’은(는) 지식 부족이나 진짜 답변을 피하기 위해 모호하거나 불충분한 설명을 하는 것을 의미합니다. 때로는 논리나 세부사항 없이 손짓 등 제스처로 얼버무릴 때도 사용됩니다.

주로 학문적/기술적 논의에서 누가 명확한 근거 없이 얼버무릴 때 사용. 실제 손을 흔드는 행동이 아니라, “넘겨짚기” 의미로 쓰임.
