ガスは空気のような気体の物質のことです。アメリカ英語ではガソリン（車の燃料）の意味でも使われます。

アメリカ英語では'gas'はガソリン（燃料）を意味しますが、イギリス英語や理科では気体全般を指します。'gas bill'はガス料金、'step on the gas'はスピードを出すことです。
