人を不快にさせたり、失礼または下品とされる言葉で、丁寧な場では使うべきではありません。

暴言や猥褻な単語を婉曲に表現する時や、実際の言葉を避けたい時に使われます。「dirty word」は性的 표현에 한정되지 않고、不適切な言葉全般を指します。
