अधिकतर औपचारिक या अकादमिक संदर्भ में ही प्रयोग होता है; 'consequent effects' या 'consequent changes' जैसे वाक्यांशों में आम हैं। इसे 'consequential' (महत्वपूर्ण) से न मिलाएँ। रोज़मर्रा की हिंदी में कम प्रयोग होता है।
