Definition

船を操縦したり、航行を指示すること。特に船の進行方向を決める指揮や命令を行う場合に使われる言葉。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に海軍や船舶業界で使われ、日常ではあまり使いません。「take the conn」は指揮を引き継ぐ、「have the conn」は現在指揮を執っている状態を指します。
