怖くなって、直前で何かをやめてしまうこと。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

かなりくだけた言い方で、挑戦や賭けの場面でよく使われる。「Don’t chicken out!」は「ビビるな！」などと訳される。フォーマルな場には適さない。
