Passado de 'chase'. Significa seguir alguém ou algo rapidamente para pegar, alcançar ou afugentar.

É muito usado com animais, polícia, brincadeiras e situações de perigo: 'the dog chased the cat', 'police chased the car'. Normalmente indica movimento rápido e perseguição, não apenas ir atrás. Não confunda com 'followed', que pode ser mais neutro ou calmo.
