誰かがまさに何かをしようとしていることを表すときに使う表現です。行動や出来事を始める直前です。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
主に書き言葉やフォーマルな場面で使われます。英語では-ing形を伴いますが、日本語では「〜しようとしている」と訳されます。口語では 'about to' の方がよく使われます。
