겁먹다쫄다

Definition

겁이나 자신감이 부족해서 하려던 일을 포기하거나 뒤로 물러서는 것. 주로 아주 편한 말로 'wimped out'와 같이 쓴다.

아주 비격식적이며 거의 항상 'wimped out'로 쓴다. 'wimped'만 따로 잘 쓰지 않는다.

He wimped out of climbing the wall.

그는 벽을 오르려다 **겁먹고 포기했다**.

I almost wimped during the scary movie.

무서운 영화를 볼 때 나도 **겁먹을 뻔했다**.

She wimped when it was time to give her speech.

연설할 시간이 되자 그녀는 **쫄았다**.
