다른 사람이 듣지 못하도록 누군가와 아주 작은 목소리로 어떤 주제에 대해 이야기하는 것, 때때로 비밀이나 소문을 나눌 때 사용됨.

Usage Notes (Korean)

비공식적 상황이나 일상 대화에서 흔히 사용. 주로 비밀, 소문, 개인적 이야기에 쓰임. 주제와 함께 사용: 'whisper about the news.' 비밀이나 뒷말 암시 가능. 'whisper to'(누구에게 속삭이다)와 혼동하지 말 것.
