何かや誰かを待ちながら、あまり何もせずその場に留まること。不満や退屈さを含むことが多い。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「wait」よりも退屈や時間の無駄感が強いカジュアルな表現。「wait around for ～」の形でよく使われる。急いでいない時の待ち方。
