おとめ座は十二星座の一つで、乙女を象徴し、夜空に見える星座でもあります。

星座や星座名として使うときは必ず大文字（英語の場合）ですが、日本語では「おとめ座」と書きます。『おとめ座生まれ』や『おとめ座の性格』などの表現で使います。8月23日〜9月22日生まれを指します。
