誰かを不公平または残酷に扱い、被害者にすること。犯罪やいじめ、差別などで何度も繰り返される場合が多い。

法律や研究、社会問題の議論で使われることが多い。「secondary victimization（セカンダリー・ヴィクティミゼーション）」は二次被害を指す。単発の出来事より継続的・組織的な虐待に使われやすい。
