사람이나 사물이 아무런 반응이나 응답을 보이지 않는 상태. 컴퓨터나 기계에도 쓰임.

공식적, 기술적, 의료 상황에서 자주 사용됨. 'unresponsive patient'는 전혀 반응이 없는 환자, 'unresponsive app'는 작동하지 않는 앱을 의미. 'silent'는 단순히 조용함인데 비해 'unresponsive'는 명확히 반응 없음.
