أن تؤمن بشيء غير صحيح؛ أن تظن أو تتوقع خطأً شيئًا غير حقيقي.

تستخدم عادة للإشارة إلى اعتقاد خاطئ، وغالبًا بلطف أو بسخرية. تُستخدم مع 'كان تحت الوهم'. لا تخلط بينها وبين 'وهم' بمعنى خدعة سحرية.
