Definition

एक ही माँ से एक ही समय में जन्मे दो बच्चे या शिशु। यह शब्द दो बहुत मिलती-जुलती या जोड़ी जैसी चीज़ों के लिए भी इस्तेमाल हो सकता है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

यह शब्द सबसे ज़्यादा साथ जन्मे भाई-बहनों के लिए आता है और आमतौर पर बहुवचन में होता है: 'They are twins.' विशेषण के रूप में यह 'twin sisters', 'twin beds' और 'twin towers' जैसे प्रयोगों में आता है। 'identical twins' और 'fraternal twins' सामान्य संयोजन हैं।
