Definition

누군가를 일부러 또는 무심코 넘어지게 하거나 실수하게 만드는 것.

구어체에서 자주 쓰임. 실제로 넘어뜨릴 때나, 말을 꼬아서 실수하게 할 때 모두 사용됨. 'trip someone up'처럼 목적어와 함께 자주 나타남.

Be careful not to trip up on the stairs.

계단에서 **넘어지지** 않게 조심해.

The teacher tried to trip up the students with a tricky question.
