雷雨

Definition

雷雨とは、雷と稲妻、そしてたいてい激しい雨を伴う嵐のことです。強い上昇気流と湿気によって、空に雷鳴や稲妻が起こります。

『雷雨』は日常でも気象用語としてもよく使われ、必ず雷と稲妻が伴う嵐を指します。単なる雨や嵐（『雨』『嵐』）とは異なり、雷鳴がある場合に使います。『雷雨注意報』『激しい雷雨』などの表現があります。
