"throw your hands up" in Japanese
Definition
どうしようもなくなった時や諦めた時にする動作で、実際に手を上げる、または比喩的に「もう無理」と投げ出す気持ちを表す表現です。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
主に「もうどうしようもない」「諦めた」という比喩的な使い方が多いです。「お手上げです」という形でよく使われます。フォーマルな場面ではあまり使いません。
