তাপমাত্রায় একটু গরম এবং একটু ঠাণ্ডা নয়। এছাড়াও, উৎসাহ বা আগ্রহের অভাব দেখাতে ব্যবহার হয়।

তরল বা স্নানের পানি অথবা কৌতূহল, সাড়া প্রকাশে ব্যবহৃত হয়। 'tepid response' বলতে অল্প উৎসাহ বোঝায়।
