Falar de forma brava com alguém porque fez algo errado; dar bronca ou repreender alguém.

Normalmente informal, usado com crianças, alunos ou subordinados. É mais forte que 'avisar' e menos formal que 'repreender'. Padrões como 'get told off', 'tell someone off for (fazer algo)'. Não significa 'dizer' no sentido de informar.
