Definition

話題の核心に触れずにあいまいな返事をしたり、ほかの話題に逸らすこと。時には誰かを説得するために直接触れずに関連話題から話すことも含む。

カジュアルな会話でよく使われ、回避・ごまかしのニュアンスがある。「talk about」は直接的に話す場合を指し、この表現は避ける意味合いが強い。
