Confiar no que alguém diz sem exigir provas; acreditar apenas pela palavra dessa pessoa.

Expressão informal, transmite confiança ou até dúvida conforme o tom. Muito usada em 'Vou acreditar na tua palavra nisto'. Note que 'take your word for it' também ocorre muito e é quase sinónimo.
