"sure enough" in Korean

역시아니나 다를까

예상한 대로 일이 실제로 일어났을 때 쓰는 표현이다.

구어체에서 주로 이야기를 강조하거나 상황을 확인할 때 문장 맨 앞에 사용한다. 공식적인 글에서는 잘 쓰이지 않는다.

I said it would rain, and sure enough, it did.

비가 올 거라고 했는데, **역시** 왔다.

He thought the store would be closed, and sure enough, it was.

가게가 문 닫았을 거라고 생각했는데, **아니나 다를까** 닫혀 있었다.

I left my sandwich on the table, and sure enough, my dog ate it.

테이블에 샌드위치 두었는데, **역시** 우리 개가 먹어 버렸다.

I checked my email in the morning and, sure enough, the message was there.

아침에 이메일 확인했는데, **역시** 메시지가 있었다.
