くも膜（脳や脊髄を包む膜の一つ）の下にある、またはそこで起こる状態や出来事。主に医療用語として使われます。

医学用語として使われ、『くも膜下出血』などのフレーズでよく使われます。日常会話ではほとんど使われません。
