কোনো গল্প, তথ্য বা সত্যকে অতিরঞ্জিত করা যাতে তা বাস্তবের চেয়ে আরও গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বা নাটকীয় শোনায়।

অনানুষ্ঠানিকভাবে ব্যবহার হয়, যখন কেউ গল্প বা সত্যকে বাড়িয়ে বলে ('stretch the truth')। আক্ষরিক টানার অর্থ নয়।
