Definition

앉거나 누운 상태에서 발을 딛고 일어서는 것을 의미합니다. 약속을 지키지 않고 상대를 기다리게 하는 뜻도 있습니다.

'stand up'은 교실이나 공공장소에서 일어나라는 뜻으로 많이 쓰입니다. 또한 'He stood me up'처럼 약속을 어기고 나오지 않는 의미도 있습니다. 'stand-up'(코미디 공연)과 혼동하지 마세요.
