Definition

पानी में उतरना, खासकर जब कोई यान या विमान हवा से पानी में आता है। कभी-कभी किसी चीज़ के पानी में गिरने पर भी इस्तेमाल होता है।

अधिकतर अंतरिक्ष या विमानन संदर्भ में प्रयोग होता है ('कैप्सूल समुंदर में splash down करेगा')। कभी-कभी मज़ाकिया ढंग से भी किसी चीज़ के पानी में गिरने पर इस्तेमाल होता है। साधारण तैराकी या डाइविंग के लिए नहीं।
