何かを正式に（書面で）求めること。ビジネスや法律の場面でよく使われます。

非常にフォーマルな表現で、会話ではあまり使いません。「solicit donations」「solicit feedback」などのフレーズによく出てきます。法律用語では悪い意味になることもあるので注意が必要です。
