「sock」の過去形で、誰かや何かを強く殴ること。くだけた表現で使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

カジュアルで生き生きとした表現。突然の強いパンチを暗示することが多い。「socked him in the jaw」のように体の部位と一緒に使われる。'shock'（驚き）と混同しないように。
