切り裂く切り進む
Definition
ナイフがパンを切るように、何かを素早く滑らかに切り裂いて進むこと。船が水を切る様子などにも使う。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
実際の切断（包丁やはさみ）だけでなく、音や動きなど比喩的にも使います。“slice through the air”、“slice through butter”のような表現でよく見られます。ゆっくり切る意味では使いません。
