슬레이트석판(지붕 또는 칠판용)

Definition

‘슬레이트’는 지붕이나 옛날 학교에서 칠판으로 사용했던 얇고 평평한 돌을 말합니다. 드물게 정치 후보 명단을 뜻하기도 합니다.

대부분 지붕 자재나 학용 칠판을 가리킵니다. 정치에서는 ‘후보자 명단’을 의미. 'to slate' 동사(예정하다, 비판하다)와 혼동하지 마세요.

The workers placed new slates on the roof.

일꾼들이 지붕에 새 **슬레이트**를 올려놓았다.

Students once wrote with chalk on slates in school.
