Definition

「スレート」は屋根に使う平らな石や、昔学校で使われたチョーク用の板のことです。まれに、候補者の一覧を指すこともあります。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に屋根材か昔の学校の黒板を指します。「slates of candidates」は政治用語で候補者リストになります。「to slate」（予定・非難する動詞）とは意味が異なります。
