スケートで周りを回ること、または（より一般的に）難しい質問に対して直接答えず話をはぐらかすこと。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に口語的に使われる。'skate around the issue/question'の形が多く、ごまかしたり避けたりする意味。'skate over'（無視する）とは区別すること。
