Definition
Volverse arrugado, seco o más pequeño, normalmente por perder humedad o envejecer. Se usa a menudo para plantas, frutas y también para la piel u otras cosas que se secan.
Usage Notes (Spanish)
Se usa mucho para partes de plantas (hojas, frutas), pero también con la piel ('your hands shrivel in water'). Describe un cambio lento y visible por sequedad o envejecimiento. También puede ser figurativo ('las esperanzas se marchitan'). No equivale a encoger por recorte ni a reducir cantidad.
